Yisroel, 39, was diagnosed with a tumor. His wife was near an emotional breakdown from the stress, and their four young children were also affected. Complications from his illness and treatments required him to miss work frequently, and, just when he needed medical treatment most, he was fired, and was in danger of losing his medical coverage. His wife considered taking a second job
When patients receive the proper care, even the grimmest prognosis can be changed. Rofeh Cholim Cancer Society, now in its eleventh year of service to the Jewish community, has saved the lives of thousands of people like Yisroel by paying their medical insurance premiums and thereby securing for them the medical treatment they desperately need.
Although it counts top doctors and oncologists among it advisors it is not a medical organization. RCCS has a single function: to pay the insurance premiums of its patients, thereby ensuring them access to the best medical care possible.
The cost to RCCS ranges from about $8,000 to $15,000 per year for each patient, depending on the policy needed. However, each policy could be worth hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars of treatment each year.
RCCSs rabbinical board reviews each application for coverage. If approved, the medical coverage for the patient, adult or child, is assured, giving the troubled family the peace of mind to address other needs. The organization currently supports nearly 170 patients across America. RCCSs vital work not only saves lives, it saves entire families.
